When is the 2024 World Series?
This year’s summer WSOP action started on May 28 and ran through July 17, just a few days off of the 2023 bookend dates.
WSOP Senior Vice President and Executive Director Ty Stewart commented on the 2024 schedule: “With our best schedule ever and more than 100 additional poker tables, we look forward to welcoming legends, first-timers and everyone in between. If you’re a poker player, there is simply no experience on earth like the World Series of Poker.”
Settled on the Strip
In 2022, the WSOP made its debut on the Las Vegas Strip. After 17 years at the off-Strip Rio, the series took parent company Caesars up on its offer to use the ballrooms of Paris and Bally’s Las Vegas. It worked out so well that they kept it going in 2023, and the two casinos will provide the home for the WSOP again in 2024.
In 2023, Bally’s transformed into Horseshoe Las Vegas, harkening back to the the beginning of the World Series of Poker and its early years. Today’s Horseshoe brand reflects modern-day accommodations and casino offerings with a respectful nod to its history.
Paris and Horseshoe are connected. Not only through their ownership but literally through an interior hallway lined with stores and restaurants. Players easily walk between the casinos indoors or outdoors. As was the case in 2022 and 2023, the WSOP 2024 utilize the ballroom spaces of both casinos. They are just a few minutes of a walk/scooter/wheelchair from each other. In 2023, WSOP action utilized 200,000 square feet of convention space for 608 poker tables. This year, there were 100 more tables in use to accommodate more players and create an overall better experience.
Players find Paris and Horseshoe easily accessible from nearby casinos. There is a shared parking garage and valet service, but the properties are also accessible by walking, driving, taking the Las Vegas Monorail or Deuce double-decker buses, or using taxis or ride-shares like Uber or Lyft.
WSOP 2024 Schedule

Main Event 2024 Schedule
The 2023 WSOP Main Event made history. With 10,043 players and a $94M prize pool, it became the largest World Series Main Event ever and awarded the largest first-place prize of $12.1M to winner Daniel Weinman.
This year, the WSOP wanted to do even better. There were more Main Event qualifiers from GGPoker online poker satellites than the 774 in 2023. In fact, GGPoker claims to have sent 1,124 players to the 2024 WSOP, all of whom won their way online.
The 2024 WSOP Main Event started July 3-6, four starting days that gave players flight choices around the holiday. Late registration remained open July 7-8, the two Day 2 flights, through much of the afternoon.
Ultimately, the Main Event played down to the final table on the night of July 14, and the final table played out July 16-17.
The full schedule for 2024 was identical to that of the 2023 Main Event.

WSOP Paradise 2024
The first-ever WSOP Paradise took place in December 2023 with 15 bracelet events at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas. Players traveled from around the world, including hundreds upon hundreds of players who won seats into tournaments via GGPoker online poker satellites.
As the 2024 WSOP summer series came to an end, the World Series of Poker revealed that there will be a second WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas. The full series will be detailed in the coming months, with online qualifiers available on GGPoker. The highlight of the series will be a $25K buy-in Super Main Event with a $50M guarantee.
WSOP 2024 Registration
Players at the World Series of Poker registered in-person and online. They needed to provide a photo ID and a Caesars Rewards card for in-person verification at Paris Las Vegas prior to using the online buy-in options.
In-Person Registration
To register in person, players used the Paris Las Vegas main cashier cage in the casino from May 3 to May 16 (9am to 5pm) and then 24 hours per day from May 17 forward. Starting when the WSOP got underway on May 28, players then went to the Champagne Ballroom, near the front end of the Paris Convention Center. This office opened on May 28 at 9:00am and remained open until 5am the next morning. From May 29 through July 18, the hours expanded to 6:30am to 5:00am daily, with just a 90-minute break in the wee hours of the morning.
Payment possibilities in person at Paris were:
- Credit/Debit Card – Accepted card payment types included Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Fees were assessed, and players presented corresponding ID.
- Cashier’s Check – Made payable to the player or Paris Las Vegas from the player’s accredited bank account.
- Gaming Chips – Valid if only from Paris or Horseshoe casinos.
- Cash
Online Registration
Online registration was an option again this year using Bravo Poker Live, the vendor that supplied the WSOP registration and payout program software since 2016. For those who registered and sent payment online, it reduced time spent at the casino waiting in line. In-person verification was required for only the first event played, after which the entire process could be online and at kiosks at Horseshoe and Paris. It is important to note the ways to pay for online registration buy-ins:
- Credit Card – for buy-ins $10,000 and under only. Accepted card payment types included Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Once a credit card was been verified for WSOP 2024, this same card could then be used for online registration until the end of the WSOP.
- Bravo TBIC – Bravo Live tournament buy-in credits were earned through Caesars promotions or funded through the PayInfiniti ewallet. PayInfiniti allowed for bank transfers, wires, and ACH transactions.
- WSOP Tournament Account – Set up at Paris cashier cage with cash or gaming chips, but then could be used to register online or via Bravo Poker Live. Players transfered tournament winnings to this account.

WSOP Daily Deepstacks
The Daily Deepstacks at the World Series of Poker were not bracelet-awarding events, but the tournaments had become more popular every year. There were several options each day, with buy-ins generally ranging from $200 to $400. In fact, some people played more Daily Deepstacks than bracelet events.
The 2024 WSOP Daily Deepstack schedule was set as follows:
- Daily $250 buy-in NLHE at 1pm (May 28 – July 16)
- Daily $400 buy-in NLHE at 4pm with accelerated format (May 28 – July 16)
- Daily $200 buy-in NLHE at 8pm with accelerated format (May 28 – July 16)
- Thursday $250 buy-in Seniors (50+) NLHE at 9am (May 30 – July 11)
- Monday $250 buy-in HORSE at 3pm (June 3 – July 15)
Women also had a special Ladies NLHE Warm-Up tournament prior to the WSOP Ladies Championship bracelet event. The non-bracelet Warm-Up was a $150 buy-in NLHE tournament at 6pm on June 25. (The $150 was a discounted price for women. Men registering for the women-only event paid $1,500 to enter.)
Competing Las Vegas Series
The WSOP is the main game in town, but that didn’t stopped other poker rooms in Las Vegas from capitalizing on the influx of poker players in May, June, and July. More poker rooms offered competing tournament series in 2024 than ever before.
The benefit of the plethora of poker series was that players had a vast variety of tournament options. Some offered more mixed games, others reduced buy-ins, and a couple of them offered events that were not on the sometimes-frustratingly-busy Las Vegas Strip.
Seven poker rooms released schedules for their 2024 competing tournament series.
- Wynn Las Vegas – 2024 Wynn Summer Classic (May 22-July 18, $37M GTD in 81 events)
- Venetian Las Vegas – 2024 DeepStack Championship Poker Series (May 20-July 31, >$14M GTD in 79 events)
- Aria – 2024 Aria Poker Classic (May 29-July 13, <$12M GTD in 45 events)
- MGM Grand – 2024 Summer Poker Festival (May 29-July 8, >$3.7M GTD in 70 events)
- Golden Nugget – 2024 Grand Poker Series (May 28-July 1, <$3.5M GTD in 96 events)
- Orleans – 2024 Orleans Summer Open (May 26-July 14, <$3.5M GTD in 126 events)
- Resorts World – 2024 Summer Poker Series (June 6-July 24, <$900K GTD in 82 events)
