Juicy Stakes Review
“Juicy Stakes’ tournament variety is excellent, and I plan to stick around and try some of them.”
Cliff Spiller
Overview
It took me a while to get used to the Juicy Stakes setup and interface, but it became more fun as I became more familiar. The only problem I had was the lack of competition. Playing daytime hours Eastern time and on weekends, I found it hard to find full Hold ‘em tables, if any populated tables at all.
I’m a regular at more popular sites, so I’ve been spoiled with being able to find competitors right away.
Juicy Stakes Poker is a good site, except for finding players’ full-ring games. The interface is sound, and there are a lot of fun and useful features.
The bonus requirements can be challenging to navigate, but for high-stakes or low-deposit players, the bonuses are worth a shot.
The competition seems soft, so I’d recommend Juicy Stakes Poker for newer or casual players. But free-play tables were rarely occupied.
Pros and Cons
While Juicy Stakes has many benefits I love, no poker site is perfect. Here’s a list of the pros and cons I found when I was there.
Pros
- Tournament variety – The site has something going each day for all levels of players.
- Free-play mode helps you practice and learn how tables work.
- Easy-to-use interface with filters and buttons to find the games you want.
- Soft field of players makes it good for new players to learn poker competition.
Cons
- Low traffic at certain times means it can be hard to find competition at your favorite tables.
- Limited banking options with impractical fees on the withdrawal side.
Juicy Stakes Bonuses and Promotions
Juicy Stakes has a mixture of poker bonuses and promotions, which you earn through rakes from playing ring games and tournaments. The rake rules for clearing bonuses are challenging but achievable and worthwhile if you use a bankroll strategy and play regularly. Offers always depend on time, amount, and an individual’s style of play.
My Recommended Bonuses
I’ll discuss my favorite offers at this poker site, sharing details about the ones I recommend and any other bonuses worth checking out.
200% Welcome Bonus
The only deposit welcome bonus is a 200% match for up to $1,000. You earn 1 frequent player point (FPP) for every $1 in rake the site collects from your ring play and 7 points per $1 of rake in tournaments.
Deposit as little as $25 and have only $50 to clear in rake money.
You must collect 83.335 FPPs to earn each $5 of bonus money, and you have 90 days to wager through the entire bonus amount.
If you have not cleared the amount by that time, the portion you have earned will be removed from your account. So, it is crucial that your bankroll and style of poker play fall in line with the amount of bonus you seek.
100% Reload Bonus
If you have run out of funds from previous deposits, this bonus or a similar one is available for reloads at specific monthly times. It offers up to $100 in bonus money, which is earned in $5 increments using the same FPP rake earnings formula as other cash bonuses. But there’s no time limit for clearing this one.
Other Bonuses I Reviewed
There is a Juicy Stakes promotion that you can use in conjunction with a bonus to double your FPP earnings. The Double FPP offer designates certain days and blocks of days in which you can earn 2 points per $1 rake in ring games and 14 FPPs for each $1 rake in tournaments.
Juicy Stakes also offers rewards through Gold Chips, which you earn for every 100 FPPs you collect. Gold Chips can be used for free tournament play, Juicy Stakes swag, and other prizes.
They also have a 36% Rakeback program that is activated by request. That’s the highest rakeback I’ve seen, but the catch is that rakeback players earn FPPs at half the normal rate. Juicy Stakes’ friend referral program offers you a return on the rakes your friends collect.
I also checked out the bonuses for casino play at Juicy Stakes and discovered cash bonuses attached to specific slot games. I found a 200% match bonus for up to $500 for playing Frontier Gold. But you have to deposit at least $100, and you have just seven days to clear a 30x bonus amount.
There were deposit matches for lower amounts, but the 30x, seven-day rules applied.
JuicyStakes Poker
As with most poker sites, Juicy Stakes hosts Texas Hold ’em, Omaha, and Hi-Lo Omaha tables. There are no stud or draw games, which are less conducive to the larger rakes that poker sites profit from.
The variety of stakes, table sizes, game speeds, and game types is on par, if not larger, than most poker sites. Juicy Stakes hosts more tournaments than most. When I visited, more than 250 tournaments were played, registered, or announced.
When I was there, stakes for cash games started at $.02/$.05 blinds and went up to $10/$20 blinds. You can warm up in a free-play mode that starts you out with 1,000 chips.
There seems to be light traffic at Juicy Stakes; a table is always open, and it is sometimes hard to find someone to play with.
The interface is fun and player-friendly, too. You have buttons and filters to search no-limit and pot-limit games, choices of low, medium, and high stakes, and table sizes of up to nine players. You can also choose normal or turbo table speeds. It all makes it simple to find what you are looking for quickly.
When you start, you create your screen name and get an ID image for your seat at the table. There is also a chat option that monitors each play, but it is a little awkward to know what won the previous hand if you missed it.
With so many tournaments, most poker competitors can find something they like. Juicy Stakes hosts all the game types, styles, speeds, and prizes. When I was there, buy-ins ranged from 30 cents to $115, plus buy-ins with Gold Chips.
I saw prize pools of up to $10,000. There are Sit and Gos, bounties, and progressive bounties in which an increased bounty turns to you if you eliminate another player. You can also get bubble protection that refunds your fee if you are close to the prize pool cut-off.
An event that caught my eye was the Fast Fortune contest, a three-handed, hyper-turbo Sit and Go with random prize pools. You choose a buy-in level and enter it, and when your table is filled, a multiplier of up to 1000x the buy-in is designated as the prize.
You can win up to $8.000 with a top multiplier, and there are no playthrough restrictions on winning. The buy-ins range from 25 cents to $10.
Juicy Stakes Banking Methods
Juicy Stakes’ banking options are fewer than most online gambling sites, and they obviously encourage Bitcoin as it’s the only option for withdrawing and depositing. They do, however, offer player-to-player transfers that are dependent on the account standing and subject to review.
Deposit Options Summary
Juicy Stakes offers a limited number of depositing options: five credit card services and four cryptocurrency types.
NOTE: The site charges no fees, but you may incur a fee from the bank that employs your credit card or cryptocurrency in cases of high blockchain traffic.
- Fastest Deposit Method: Bitcoin Lightning – Instant
- Deposit fees: No
My Recommended Deposit Method
I almost always use Bitcoin for online gambling transactions because it is quick and seamless. However, there have been instances in which I have been hit with a hefty fee and/or slow transaction time because of blockchain congestion.
Since Bitcoin Lightning avoids blockchain delays, it may be the best method if you are depositing less than $100.
Deposit Method | Min Deposit | Max Deposit | Speed | Fees |
---|---|---|---|---|
Credit Cards | $25 | $1,000 | Instant | None |
Bitcoin | $25 | $2,599 | Instant | None |
Bitcoin Cash | $10 | $2,500 | Instant | None |
Bitcoin Lightning | $5 | $100 | Instant | None |
Litecoin | $10 | $2,500 | Instant | None |
Withdrawal Options Summary
Like most online gambling sites, Juicy Stakes wants you to use Bitcoin. It is the only cryptocurrency option for withdrawal. The others are by check or bank transfer, and they take longer and involve fees.
Most sites offer many more crypto options and some allow e-wallet withdrawals like Zelle and Skrill. Plus, Juicy Stakes has conditions such as not allowing a cashout if you have not earned 10% of your deposit amount in rakes.
- Is Verification Required? Yes – Photo ID and utility bill as proof of address.
- Fastest Withdrawal Method: Bitcoin – 48 hours.
My Recommended Payout Method
Bitcoin is the best way to withdraw at Juicy Stakes or most other online gambling sites. It is quicker than other methods, and the house charges no fee. From the chart, you can see that fees for withdrawals through banks make payouts impractical for smaller amounts.
Payout Method | Min Withdrawal | Max Withdrawal | Speed | Fees |
---|---|---|---|---|
Bitcoin | $100 | $2,500 | 48 hours | None |
Check | $150 | $3,000 | 5 business days | $50 |
Bank Transfer | $210 | $2,560 | 15 business days | $60 |
Customer Service
Juicy Stakes has two main outlets for contacting customer service. But before resorting to contact via chat or e-mail, take a look at their FAQ section at the bottom of the main pages.
It has categories with basic information on features, tools, and how various games and rakes work.
The FAQ is useful for newcomers like me. Juicy Stakes also has a News and Press link at the bottom of the main pages with articles on bonuses and banking, industry news, and podcasts.
Here are the chief options.
Chat
A chat bubble at the bottom of the site’s main pages and a contact link at the top and bottom of the pages will get you to chat help. You can also get a chat window through Help Support in your player profile.
The representatives I encountered responded within a few minutes but notified me of any delays. They asked for an e-mail address and/or username and gave me answers within five minutes.
The staff seemed genuinely interested in helping, and the replies, after slight delays, told me they were checking their info.
support@juicystakes.eu – This is a good channel for more detailed questions or explanations of your particular situation, and it provides documentation if you have a serious issue.
I had no reason to e-mail Juicy Stakes, so I cannot vouch for the speed or efficiency of responses.
Overall, I found the FAQ and Chat channels helpful for getting information on how the site works. The Chat reps were responsive, polite, and human, not bot.
My Verdict
Juicy Stakes Poker is worth at least a visit. The number and variety of tournaments are its biggest drawing card. But, other assets of this site make it deserve more popularity than it apparently receives.
The 36% Rakeback opportunity beats industry standards, the frequent player points can be doubled, and the interface has valuable features.
Bonus playthroughs are challenging, and more transaction options would be nice. But new and experienced players looking for a new setting would do well to give Juicy Stakes a try.
Player Protection
Juicy Stakes takes a forward approach to problem gambling that you don’t find at many gambling sites. The Terms & Conditions state that the site can monitor players’ account activity and notify a player “if Juicy Stakes believes you may have gambling problems.”
The Terms also note that a player may cease depositing and playing at the site by emailing them at poker@JuicyStakes.eu.
The site also carries a Bankroll Protection feature that allows you to restrict the games you play based on the size of your available bankroll.
At the bottom of the Juicy Stakes main pages are links to Gamblers Anonymous and Cybersitter, a program from 27Labs that can be purchased to filter and block information to conform with the US Children’s Internet Protection Act.
The issue of responsible gambling has moved to the forefront of the gambling industry, and most establishments employ warnings and gambling-problem services to promote transparency, fairness, and consumer protection.
Responsible gambling has gained attention in the US as more states have legalized more forms of wagering.
