WSOP 2023 Takes Shape with Important Dates
Last year, the World Series of Poker announced its 2022 WSOP dates in November. This year, it happened just before the holidays. While the timing was a little later than usual, it still gave poker players plenty of time to put WSOP tournament entries on their wish lists.
The dates are no surprise, though. In fact, there is only one day of a difference between the 2023 start/end dates from the 2022 WSOP.
While nothing is groundbreaking in the announcement, there is some new information. And poker players do like to know – without a doubt – the dates for poker’s summer camp so they can start planning.
Start to Finish
It is official. The 54th Annual World Series of Poker will take place from May 30 to July 18, 2023. It will start one day earlier than this year and end one day earlier.
The entire series will take place at Paris Las Vegas and Bally’s, which just this week officially became Horseshoe Las Vegas. The 2022 WSOP was a great success at the new locations right on the Las Vegas Strip, so the World Series will be at the same location this year. Action will again involve the convention rooms in both casinos, which are connected by an interior walkway.
Per WSOP Senior Vice President and Executive Director Ty Stewart, “The historic debut of the WSOP on the Las Vegas Strip delivered in a big way, and we’re excited to announce our Summer 2023 dates in time for the holidays. Poker players and fans can now officially mark their calendars and maybe even book their loved ones or themselves a trip to the WSOP as a holiday gift.”
Schedule Months Away
As per usual, the full WSOP schedule is not likely to be released until February. Between regulatory approvals and scheduling complications, it takes time to nail everything down.
They have solidified the 2023 WSOP Main Event dates, though.
-$10K buy-in WSOP World Championship Main Event starts with 4 flights July 3-6, late reg July 7-8
There are also start dates for some of the key tournaments on the 2023 schedule. There is no information yet as to how many starting flights or structure specifics, but the WSOP did release starting dates for some tournaments as follows:
-May 31: $1K NLHE Mystery Millions with bounties of $10K to $1M ($1M GTD to winner)
-June 7: $300 NLHE Gladiators of Poker ($3M GTD)
-June 16: $1,500 NLHE Monster Stack

Preparations Now
As the WSOP executives and Caesars crews begin to plan out the details for the 2023 World Series of Poker, the company is using its WSOP.com online poker site to run qualifiers. It may seem early, but action will kick off in fewer than six months.
Players on the WSOP.com site in Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, or Ontario (Canada) can start qualifying by using the code “Main Event” when making a first-time deposit on the site. Players are supposed to then win an entry to an exclusive freeroll to the WSOP Main Event next summer. However, there is no information about this on the website.
Those who want to start making travel plans at this point can book at any Caesars property in Las Vegas using the advanced booking code of “WSOP23.” The reservations link shows all Caesars properties and promotional pricing.
