WPT and PartyPoker Announce Summer Series Schedule
Players waited over a month for the much-anticipated schedule for the upcoming WPT World Online Championships. And it is here.
The World Poker Tour and PartyPoker partnered to announce their latest online tournament series more than a month ago, with a teaser that it would feature 15 championship-level tournaments. The entire series was set to run from July 1 through August 9.
The WPT portion of the series is now official. There will likely be many more PartyPoker tournaments on the full schedule, but the focus of the series is the WPT-branded tournaments. Let’s get into the details.
A Series with Something for Everyone
The WPT World Online Championships will guarantee $100 million in prize pools as it runs from July 17 through September 8.
Overall, the series will feature 12 championship-level events, five of which will contribute to Champions Club status and sent the event winners to the WPT Tournament of Champions. Other events will be added in the coming weeks, with those side events not boasting of the WPT brand.
In addition, this latest series will divide seven of the championship events – only those without Champions Club points – will offer three versions of each. There will be a Main Event, along with mini and micro versions of each. More players will be able to participate with buy-ins as low as $33.00.

WPT CEO Adam Pliska noted that this will be the largest series for both the World Poker Tour and PartyPoker. “The spectacle on display during the WPT Online Series will be heightened once more come July with another major milestone for the World Poker Tour,” he said. “Five WPT champions crowned in a single series is a first for the WPT in 18 seasons, and we look forward to welcoming them all into the WPT Champions Club.”
