World Poker Tour Completes Summer Alpha8 Trifecta
Poker summer camp in Las Vegas might revolve around the World Series of Poker for some players, but the other series at casinos around Sin City are big attractions as well. One of the biggest draws for players is always the Wynn Summer Classic. Its series this year offered $37M in prize pool guarantees as well as three World Poker Tour events.
The Wynn’s partnership with the World Poker Tour put three high-stakes WPT Alpha8 tournaments into the mix – the WPT Alpha8 Trifecta – each requiring a $25K buy-in.
Big Win for Brock Wilson
The first of the three tournaments delivered 78 entries and a prize pool of $1,864,200. It was enough to pay out the top 10 players. Ultimately, Brock Wilson prevailed to capture his first WPT title. In fact, this was his first major tournament title of any kind, and the payday was second only to his second-place finish in the 2019 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS cash in the Bahamas.
- 1st place: Brock Wilson (USA) $571,400
- 2nd place: Seth Gottlieb (USA) $380,900
- 3rd place: Artur Martirosyan (Russia) $253,900
- 4th place: Matthias Eibinger (Austria) $176,400

Sepiol Can’t Stop Winning
The second of the Alpha8 Trifecta tournaments brought in 108 entries for a $2,581,200 prize pool. That paid out the top 14 players, with initial cashes going to Brandon Adams, Adrian Mateos, Ian Bradley, Stephen Chidwick, and Dominik Nitsche.
Daniel Sepiol took down this tournament, with as much confidence as when he captured the WPT World Championship title in December 2023 at Wynn. That victory was worth a career high of nearly $5.3M, but he then parlayed that win into a PokerGo Tour title at the PGT Texas Poker Open in April and a WSOP gold bracelet in this summer’s WSOP $1,500 NLHE Shootout event.

Coleman Claims Trifecta Finale

David Coleman was at the very top, taking down the event for his largest live career tournament cash to date and first of the World Poker Tour variety. The high-stakes player has several titles from the PokerGO Tour, including wins in the PGT Kickoff, PokerGO Cup, and US Poker Open.
