Triton Partners with WPT Global to Expand Reach
As the World Poker Tour gears up for its third iteration of the WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas this December, its international online poker arm is busy making news of its own. WPT Global announced its official sponsorship of the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series, and the partnership will allow WPT Global players to compete in their own high-stakes tournament online.
It is quite interesting that Triton is partnering with WPT Global just months after announcing its deal with GGPoker for a Triton Poker event at WSOP Paradise. Considering the intense and sometimes contentious (so it seems) level of competition between the World Poker Tour and the World Series of Poker, Triton double-dipping with WPT Global and GGPoker is – well – interesting.
WPT Global Sponsorship
The primary component of the new partnership between Triton and WPT Global is the sponsorship. WPT Global is now the official sponsor of the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series.

The Triton Poker Series is the name of the overall company that offers high-stakes poker tournaments around the world. The settings are often luxurious, the action and commentary on livestreams is top level, and the stakes are always high. Triton offers events like the Cash Game Invitational and the Triton Million, but its core series is the Super High Roller Series. For years, it has taken players to Cyprus and Vietnam, England and Montenegro, South Korea and Monaco.
Next up on the Triton schedule is the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Monte Carlo, set to take place November 1-14 in Monaco. There are 16 tournaments in the lineup with buy-ins ranging from $25K to $200K. The series is not for the faint of heart or those with thin wallets.
Online Triton Satellites
But wait, there’s more. There is another part of the new Triton-WPT Global relationship, and that is the opportunity to play online poker qualifiers for the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series. The satellites are exclusive and official, with WPT Global as the only place to offer these online satellites.
Even more, the 2025 season of the Triton Super High Roller Series will feature a new tournament at each stop called the WPT Global Slam. It will require a $25K buy-in, but players will be able to qualify online at WPT Global (obviously.)
WPT Global President Alex Scott noted that the new tournament is a way to “elevate the level of competition, providing players the opportunity for players to “compete at the highest levels in poker” through “unforgettable experiences at Triton events worldwide.” Triton CEO Andy Wong added that this deal allows Triton to expand its global reach with a “fresh injection of new players into the arena of ultra high stakes.”
At @wpt_global we are proud to partner with @tritonpoker ! A natural alliance, with both parties committed to a FairGame. Starting in Monte Carlo this Nov, you can look forward to the @WPT ambassadors joining the ultra-high stakes action on YouTube and Twitch. cc @ClubWPTGold pic.twitter.com/FQKR81bNaf

What about Triton and GGPoker?
In July of this year, not long before GGPoker parent company NSUS Group announced that it purchased the World Series of Poker for $500M, GGPoker announced a partnership with Triton Poker. It involved the WSOP Paradise series set for this December in the Bahamas.
The biggest news was that Triton would be hosting its Triton Millions at the series, with that $1M buy-in tournament beginning on December 7. It is a unique event played in various locations around the world with each buy-in split between two players, a poker pro and a poker enthusiast, the latter being successful in the business or entertainment world. Each player of the duo contributes $500K to equal the $1M buy-in. These sometimes overlap, but often this brings a unique pairing to the field. The invited enthusiasts play amongst themselves, with poker pros playing separately. The survivors of initial levels eventually come together and play for the prize pool. And the singular event winner will take home a WSOP gold bracelet to go with the Triton trophy.
This announcement brought a statement from Triton CEO Wong about the showcasing of Triton in the Bahamas for the first time, “a significant milestone in our journey.” Further, he noted, “Our partnership with GGPoker and WSOP further strengthens our commitment to delivering premier poker experiences.”
It should be noted that this partnership appears to be relegated to this specific WSOP Paradise 2024 and the singular event. And it is not clear if this relationship will continue now that WPT Global is the title sponsor of the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series.
