RGPS Kicks Off Second Half of Year at Council Bluffs
The last event hosted by the RunGood Poker Series was in mid-June. It was a quick Contenders Weekend event in Tulsa, one dedicated to players who have time for one tournament on a weekend…and that’s it.
Since then, the RGPS team respected the focus on the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. In addition, its management team kept themselves busy filling in some blank spaces on the 2022 RGPS season.
The addition of more stops to the RGPS schedule gave players a full slate of options for the second half of the year. They can go from California to Ohio, Oklahoma to Mississippi, and even on a CardPlayer Cruise on the Royal Caribbean vessel.
Catching Up
The last time we checked in with the RunGood Poker Series was in late May, just days before the 2022 WSOP got underway. RGPS had a busy first half of the year, with one fan-favorite stop at Downstream Casino in Missouri spotlighting the lead-up to the WSOP.
RGPS had been showing that the crowds looking for RunGood action in 2022 were sizeable enough to smash the Main Event guarantees. Actual prize pools sometimes eclipsed guarantees by two or three times. It was a sign that mid-major tournaments were increasing in popularity, and players enjoyed the atmosphere and options presented by RunGood.
There was one more stop in the first half of the year. It was a Contenders Weekend stop at the Hard Rock Tulsa in Oklahoma. That singular tournament brought in 559 entries, enough to set a prize pool that was more than four times the original guarantee. And in the end, Stephen Culpepper won the tournament for a weekend payday of more than $37K.

This schedule shows two stops this month alone – Iowa and California – and quite a few more stops to follow in September and beyond. The demand for events has inspired a busy schedule in the coming months.
