PokerStars USA Brings Back Summer Stacks
There is a lot of talk about Las Vegas poker these days. Of course, the World Series of Poker is happening there, as are many other tournament series. The vast majority of poker players, however, cannot be there. Even if they are able to go for a weekend or a few days, reality doesn’t permit most people the opportunity to spend all summer playing poker in Las Vegas.
PokerStars knows this. They want poker players to have something with profit potential but also fun and challenging. That’s why they’re running Summer Stacks again this year for online poker players in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey
Summer Stacks: June 10-27
PokerStars can only operate in New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania…so far. So, this series is for them. And the sites have not been connected across state lines yet, through no fault of PokerStars, so each state must run its own series. And that series is the Summer Stacks.
Altogether, the three states will pay out more than $2.5M in prize pools due to guarantees put in place.
Each state will host approximately 100 events, with all buy-ins coming in at $100 or less – mostly less.
PokerStars US Operations Manager Tom Bostic noted that last year’s Summer Stacks was a big hit, so they knew they had to bring it back. “This is a summer tournament series with plenty of value added that players can enjoy from the comfort of their home featuring a variety of formats and buy-ins, which makes for a lot of fun,” he said.
Michigan Summer Stacks
The Michigan series has 98 tournaments on the official schedule and running through June 27. Altogether, the guarantees total $1M.
One of the highlights of the series is the Summer Stacks Depositor Freeroll. Any player who deposits at least $50 using the bonus code STACKS22 will receive a ticket into the freeroll, which takes place on June 26. There will be $5K in the prize pool.
The other highlight of the series is, of course, the Main Event, set for June 26 at 5pm local ET:
-Event 92: $100 buy-in NLHE Main Event (2 days, 5 reentries, 100K chips, $100K GTD)
New Jersey Summer Stacks
The Summer Stacks for New Jersey players has 99 tournaments on the schedule and at least $500K payable in tournament prize pools.
New Jersey players have the same opportunity to play a Depositor Freeroll on June 26, also with a $5K guaranteed. They, too, can use the STACKS22 code when depositing to receive the free ticket. And this state’s Main Event will be:
-Event 91: $100 buy-in NLHE Main Event (2 days, unlimited reentries, 100K chips, $50K GTD)
Pennsylvania Summer Stacks
Last, but not least, Pennsylvania will offer its players a summer series as well. This will be the largest of the three, complete with $1.25M guaranteed over the course of 98 tournaments.
Players depositing at least $50 to PokerStars PA will also receive a ticket to the June 26 freeroll, and the Pennsylvania Main Event is set up as follows:
-Event 92: $100 buy-in NLHE Main Event (2 days, 5 reentries, 100K chips, $125K GTD)
