PokerStars USA Announces October 24 Events
What’s so special about October 24? It’s a Sunday. It’s in October. It’s probably a birthday for a lot of people. For poker players in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, October 24 is a big tournament day on their PokerStars websites.
Pennsyl-MANIA, the Michigan Classic, and the New Jersey Classic will offer big guarantees in their respective states.
This all will happen less than a month after the COOP series wrapped in each of those states. The PACOOP in Pennsylvania, MICOOP in Michigan, and NJCOOP in New Jersey collectively awarded $5.27M via the annual Championship of Online Poker tournament series.
2021 COOP Results
All three states in which PokerStars operates in the state-regulated US market offered a COOP series September 10-27. In total, they guaranteed $4.5M in payouts to players.
Specifically, Pennsylvania and its PACOOP guaranteed $2M in prize pools spread out over 65 events with buy-ins ranging from $10 to $1K. The results were:
-Total events: 69
-Total entries: more than 25,000

-Main Event info: 851 entries, $238,280 prize pool (surpassing $200K GTD)

Michigan and its MICOOP also started with 65 events and guaranteed $1.5M in prize money. Those buy-ins and tournament options closely mimicked those in Pennsylvania but on a slightly smaller scale. In the end, the results were:

New Jersey saw a smaller series due to its smaller population. The NJCOOP put up 60 events and $1M in guarantees. The final tallies were:

Classics and MANIA: October 24
The tournaments will begin on each site in each state at 5pm ET on Sunday, October 24. The three states are not connected, as their governors have yet to sign the multi-state poker agreement. However, players located in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey can play on their respective sites.
Each one requires a $300 buy-in, and each will play out over two days.
-Pennsylvania: Pennsyl-MANIA on PokerStars PA ($350K GTD)
-Michigan: Michigan Classic on PokerStars MI ($250K GTD)
-New Jersey: New Jersey Classic on PokerStars NJ ($100K GTD)
Players in all three states now have access to satellites, which began on October 12. Satellites start at just $15, and special Spin & Gos start at just $3. Even better, players who deposit can access a Depositor’s Freeroll, with tens of thousands of dollars of tournament tickets available.
