PokerGO and Solve For Why Partner for WSOP
Just days before the start of the 2021 World Series of Poker kicks off in Las Vegas, PokerGO announced a new partnership for the fall of this year. Solve For Why is now the exclusive poker training site for the fall of 2021, also known as the time of the WSOP in Las Vegas. Coincidentally (or not), the partnership will be in place through November 22 – a day before the end of the WSOP.
It may be a fairly short partnership, but there are several components to it. And one of the most eye-catching of them all is the chance to win a $10K WSOP Main Event seat for 2022 for free.
What is Solve For Why?
Matt Berkey has been a poker pro for nearly two decades. His live tournament poker cashes date back to 2006, and he now shows more than $4.1M in earnings. He has long been one of the players who thinks more deeply about poker and has a talent for explaining his theories in a way that appeals to beginner and pro players alike.
In the mid-2010s, Berkey and fellow pros Jordan Young and Christian Soto launched a poker training company called Solve For Why Academy. It was different than other training sites that offered strategy videos, as Solve For Why aimed to give players a more in-depth look at the entire thought process behind poker strategy. He felt that more players would be successful if they knew why they should implement certain strategies.
Solve For Why started small, focusing on players who felt that they reached a limit in their poker training. The creators of the program did that and eventually expanded the academy to embrace players at more levels, all diving deeper into poker strategy and the intricacies of the game. Ultimately, the goal was to teach players to develop their own strategies, ones that they can adapt and improve over time.
Today, Solve For Why provides training focused on each player. There are general tutorials and strategies, of course, but all of it focuses on teaching players to develop their own approaches to the game.
Berkey remains the face of Solve For Why, alongside Matt Hunt, who has been with the academy since 2017. The newest face on the team belongs to Landon Tice, a young superstar of the game who is already well-known for his raw analyses of poker and his deep passion for understanding it.
Lessons 1 & 2 of @LandonTice's 1st course, After The Flop, is now available at https://t.co/qMwb1vDPLJ. Lessons 3 & 4 will release next week. In this course Landon uses aggregate reports & example sim outputs to demonstrate how the dominant cbet strat changes by board/position. pic.twitter.com/jOSHBgLL40

A Timely Partnership
This week, PokerGO announced its new relationship with Solve For Why that will last through November 22, 2021. There will be a cobranded booth at the 2021 WSOP at the Rio, featuring information about various Solve For Why programs, both free and paid options. Visitors will be able to chat with coaches as well as players who have benefited from Solve For Why.
As the exclusive training site of PokerGO throughout the 2021 WSOP, players and fans will likely see “multiple strategic integrations” of advertisements and offers.
The part of the partnership that is already getting and will continue to get attention is the WSOP Main Event seat giveaway. The seat will be worth $10K and good for the buy-in at the 2022 WSOP next year.
The only requirement for entry is to sign up for PokerGO and Solve For Why email lists. No purchase necessary, though people in New York, Florida, and Rhode Island are prohibited from winning. By signing up in one place (here). Eligibility opened on September 24 and will run through November 17 at 9pm PT. PokerGO and Solve For Why will choose the winner on November 22.
PokerGO Programming Director Brent Hanks noted that the partnership will showcase some of the brightest poker minds and exciting content creation. Berkey said the partnership with PokerGO was a “no-brainer decision” and one that will benefit the poker community. “In addition to giving away a 2022 WSOP Main Event seat,” he said, “our team is excited to work closely with PokerGO on such things as meet and greets with the Solve For Why team, a co-branded booth at the World Series of Poker, and more.”
