PokerGO Cup Sets High-Stakes Events July 6-14
Only a couple of weeks after the last high-stakes live tournament series at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas, another one is set to go. It is a new one in the PokerGO lineup, making its debut as part of the inaugural PokerGO Tour. The PokerGO Cup kicks off this week with big action and big names guaranteed simply by the nature of the offerings.
As mentioned, the last series just ended in mid-June. The US Poker Open delivered 12 high-stakes tournaments and names like Joe McKeehen and Eli Elezra taking titles. But in the end, it was 2019 champion David Peters who – again – captured enough points to win the entire series. He took home an extra $50K for the win, along with the coveted Golden Eagle trophy.
With a bit of time to get their bankrolls straight, high-stakes players will return to the Aria this week to play the inaugural PokerGO Cup in the PokerGO Studio.
PokerGO Cup Schedule
Originally slated for July 1-10, the PokerGO Cup moved back a few days when organizers set the official schedule. It now begins on July 6 and runs through July 14. Buy-ins start at $10K and increase to $100K by the finale. The schedule is as follows:

Each tournament will play 40-minute levels with a 30-second shot clock, though each player will receive six 30-second time extensions.
All players in line to register by noon each day will enter rake-free.
Poker fans can catch the final table action via subscription-only PokerGO from July 7 onward. Livestreaming will begin at 4pm ET each day.
PokerGO Schedule Beyond the Cup
As first announced in April, PokerGO decided to take its own tournaments and series, along with others around the poker world, and wrap them into the PokerGO Tour. It will track finishes and subsequent points for the players in the events, more than 150 of them on the list that will award points.
Ultimately, there will be one Player of the Year who wins $100K, with the runner-up taking home $50K and third-place finisher winning $25K.
As of July 3, the PokerGO Tour leaderboard showed Ali Imsirovic sitting in the top spot with more than $2.4M in earnings so far this year, equaling 1,897 points. Sean Perry is in second with more than $2M and 1,421 points. Andrew Moreno, Clayton Maguire, and Toby Lewis are tied for third place with 1,200 points each.
The day after the PokerGO Cup’s last event, they waste no time in offering two Aria High Rollers and then sending players down to Hollywood, Florida. They five High Roller events there in which to participate at the beginning of August before returning to Las Vegas for the four Venetian High Roller events. After that, the Poker Masters is on the schedule for September, followed by Aria High Rollers and a Super High Roller Bowl on September 27, just days before the start of the 2021 World Series of Poker.
