Payouts and Sports Bets in Latest WSOP 2023 News
As of March 30, the 2023 World Series of Poker will be two months from its start date. The two Caesars properties – Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas – on the Las Vegas Strip will be ready for Event 1 to kick off on Tuesday, May 30. As a reminder, we listed the full schedule for the live tournaments when it was released, and we wrote about the online bracelet event schedules as well.
The countdown has begun for poker fans and players alike. And as the weeks go by, the WSOP will release more information. Other poker rooms around Las Vegas will also reveal their final schedules for alternative summer poker tournament series.
The WSOP website is already populated with the entire 2023 World Series of Poker schedule, complete with starting times, chip stacks, reentry information, late registration deadlines, and structure sheets.
Let’s check out the latest additions.
Payout Calculator Added
When the WSOP hosts its tournaments, the floor managers and tournament directors try to gather information for the players as fast as possible. Players most often want to know the prize pools of the tournaments they’re in, but that requires checking and double-checking before making any announcements. That is where the payout calculator comes in handy.
It is now live on the WSOP website and prepared to provide payout information on demand for all live bracelet events and daily deepstack tournaments.
If you’re playing the $150 buy-in daily, you might want to know what the payouts will be. However, registration may not be closed, and the staff has yet to make the final announcement of the number of entries, amount of the prize pool, and payout details. You still want an idea of what those numbers will be. You can pull up the payout calculator, put in the estimated number of entries, and it will generate estimates of all tournament details.
Just added to the @WSOP 2023 page is this year’s edition of the Payout Calculator, helpful for those who get unhappy when the clock doesn’t display payouts seconds after registration is closed – https://t.co/1AHMABdy3i

Wire Instructions
The ability for poker players to wire money is vital, especially for those traveling to Las Vegas and not wanting to carry a lot of cash through airports and security checks. This goes for players traversing North America as well. For many reasons, players prefer wiring their money, especially for tournaments they know they will play.
Instructions for wiring money for event buy-ins are live on the WSOP website. Players will send their funds to Paris Las Vegas via a San Francisco Wells Fargo bank. And that bank will allocate the funds to per their specifications.

Remember that players must have a Caesars Rewards number to complete a wire transfer. New players can sign up for that free account on the Caesars website.
Horseshoe Makes It Official
The transformation of Bally’s Las Vegas into Horseshoe Las Vegas has been a long process. The casino and hotel never closed for renovations, so everything took longer to handle while trying not to disrupt customers. It all started before the 2022 WSOP, and it appears to be complete. Caesars hosted a grand opening for the Horseshoe on March 24.

To pay homage to the original Horseshoe brand and location in Downtown Las Vegas, the one that opened in 1951, Jack Binion attended the ceremony and, of course, the reception at Jack Binion’s Steak, the restaurant named after him at the Horseshoe. Other attendees included WSOP VP Jack Effel and Doyle Brunson.

GGPoker Road to Vegas
There was no doubt that GGPoker was going to offer online poker satellites for the 2023 World Series of Poker. GGPoker and the WSOP are now intertwined in more than just a multi-faceted partnership, so it was only a matter of when the Road to Vegas would begin.
The online satellites did begin on March 19. GGPoker will award at least 500 seats in online tournaments on the dot-com global site, as well as another 100 seats on ClubGG, the subscription poker platform available to players in the US.
Satellites will run daily, starting with $1 qualifiers. Those who win WSOP seats will collect the following:
$10K seat to 2023 WSOP Main Event
7 nights hotel accommodations at Horseshoe Las Vegas July 1-18
$1K for travel expenses
Access to GGPoker Platinum Lounge at Horseshoe
GGPoker merchandise and gifts
The kicker is that if any player who wins their Main Event entry through GGPoker wins said tournament in Las Vegas, GGPoker will add another $1M to their final cash prize.

Place Your Bets
The Nevada Gaming Control Board is always busy in a state like Nevada. And in an ever-changing world of technology, not to mention sports and entertainment, the NGCB is always having to adjust and adapt.
In March, the regulator’s Enforcement Division released its latest list of events approved for sports betting and wagering in Nevada. Each sports book can offer bets on these games and events and set their own odds.
Most of the events involve major sports leagues, such as awards and drafts for the MLB, NBA, WNBA, NCAA, NFL, and NHL. The division also approved betting on the National Thoroughbred Racing Association Horseplayers Championship. Then there were some interesting additions. One was an arcade game, permitting bets on the Golden Tee World Championship.
The other is of note for poker players: World Series of Poker Main Event Final Nine. This allows the public to bet on the players prior to the start of the Main Event final table.
