Ignition Poker Hosts Road to Kentucky Derby Series
There are many tell-tale signs of spring. Flowers bloom, trees regain their leaves, and critters emerge from hibernation. People turn on their air conditioners for the first time. They note the opening dates of pools, buy baseball tickets, and plan their cookouts. And they try to remember how to make a mint julip for the first Saturday in May, also known as Kentucky Derby Day.
The Kentucky Derby is the first race of the famed American Triple Crown, the most coveted title in horse racing. It is known the world over for being the “most exciting two minutes in sports.” And Ignition Casino wants to celebrate it.
Ignition’s sister site, Bovada, runs the sports betting side of things, complete with the opportunity to bet on the race. It is now set for Saturday, May 6, at 4pm local time, and the race will run – as always – at Churchill Downs. At this time, there are bets to be made, though the exact lineup and final odds remain to be set for the Kentucky Derby. But bettors can still choose from more than two dozen horses that could win the Run for the Roses.

Over at the Ignition Poker site, they plan to celebrate with – unsurprisingly – poker tournaments, starting April 29.
Road to Kentucky Derby 2023
The tournament series is a new one for Ignition, a way to celebrate the world-famous Kentucky Derby and give poker players some online action leading up to and through race day. And in celebration of the 149th anniversary – one before next year’s extravaganza – Ignition set up the 2023 Road to Kentucky Derby tournament series.
The action begins on Saturday, April 29, and it runs through Saturday, May 6, the day of the Derby.
There are a variety of tournaments, with several Main Events throughout the first week of May. Altogether, the series guarantees top $1.2M.
The tough part of this series is that there are no event numbers. When looking through the tournament lobby, it is difficult to locate a particular event, so it’s necessary to search by name or simply put “Derby” in the search box of the tournament lobby and scroll through the options.
