COPS Lite Set for BetOnline Poker April 23-30 with $500K GTD
BetOnline Poker is teaming up with its sister site, Sportsbetting.ag, in the name of a lucrative tournament series yet again.
This series is a spin-off of the duo’s flagship series called COPS, the Championship Online Poker Series. While players await another iteration of the series, BetOnline and Sportsbetting.ag decided to offer a smaller, shorter version. It still offers a sizeable cumulative guarantee of $500K in guarantees.
COPS Lite only runs for one week – the last week of April – but will put 95 tournaments on the tables with buy-ins starting at just $1.10.
It’s the perfect way to spend some time for poker players to hone their skills and practice some strategies before the 2023 WSOP and other Vegas tournament series begin in Las Vegas.
COPS Lite
This is the first time that BetOnline and Sportsbetting. Ag are running a Lite version of their Championship Series of Online Poker. It packs more tournaments into a shorter time, perfect for grinders who can dedicate a week to playing as much as possible or recreational players who want to jump in for a few low buy-in events when they can.
The series begins on Monday, April 24, and it will run through Sunday, April 30. Across those seven days, the two poker rooms – connected and sharing the same tables – will run 95 tournaments with a total of $500K in guarantees.
Buy-ins start at just $1.10 and hit a peak of $109 for the Main Event. The vast majority of events will range from $5.50 to $33.
Most tournaments will be No Limit Hold’em, per player demand, but there will be some Omaha mixed in as well. Variations of each will range from progressive knockouts (PKOs) to flips, from deep stacks to big antes, and from button blinds to rebuys.
COPS Lite Highlights
The range of events, buy-ins, and guarantees is vast. And with 95 tournaments on the schedule, we won’t list them all here. (BetOnline has a comprehensive listing.)
As an example, the very first day of action on Monday, April 24, players will be able to choose from several $2.20 buy-in NLHE events, one PLO event at that buy-in, several Hold’em PKOs, and guarantees as high as $7,500.
Ultimately, the final day – Sunday, April 30 – will offer the best deals. The highlights of the schedule will be the main events, as follows:
-Event 82 at 1pm ET: $5.50 buy-in NLHE Mini Main Event ($12,500 GTD)
-Event 83 at 1:30pm ET: $33 buy-in NLHE COPS Lite Main Event ($75K GTD)
-Event 84 at 1:30pm ET: $109 buy-in NLHE Monthly Main Event ($200K GTD)
Tournaments across the entire series will offer satellites, complete with discounted entries up for grabs.
There will also be opportunities for players to win random prizes throughout the series. “Random Poker Awards” will appear in players’ accounts as they play during the week, beginning on the second day of COPS Lite. Simply check in on the “Bonuses” section from the main poker client to see what prizes appear.
