Charity Series of Poker Hits Vegas November 5-6
When poker players get together, they can do great things. This has been the case for many a charity, cause, foundation, and friend. Longtime poker pro Matt Stout chose to coordinate some of these efforts into the Charity Series of Poker (CSOP). From 2014 to the present day, CSOP has been raising money for food banks like Three Square in Las Vegas, Habitat for Humanity, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital… to name a few.
With poker pros from around the country and world in Las Vegas for the 2021 World Series of Poker and other tournament series, CSOP is bringing the action back to Vegas. There will be two events during the first week of November, and everyone is welcome to participate.
Those interested can show up, but pre-registration is preferred in order to prepare the venues and prizes in advance. Everyone can register on the CSOP events page.
Full Houses of Food: November 5
The first of the two events will take place at the London Club at Planet Hollywood on the Las Vegas Strip on Friday, November 5. The reception will begin at 1:30pm in the afternoon, complete with complimentary appetizers and an open bar. The tournament will kick off at 3pm.
A ticket for the poker tournament and reception costs $300, though people can buy a ticket for the reception only for $100. All rebuys and add-ons for the tournament cost an addition $100.
The tournament will begin with 5K chips per player, but rebuys garner another 5K chips and add-ons include another 10K chips. There will be $5K in the prize pool, along with other prizes along the way and at the final table.
There will also be a silent auction and a 50/50 cash drawing.
The proceeds of the day will benefit Three Square Food Bank, which is a part of Feeding America. Three Square has been operating in Clark County (home of Las Vegas) and several other counties since 2007 to provide wholesome food to people who are hungry. The larger goal is to build a hunger-free community. The organization works with schools and other nonprofits to reach individuals and families who need food. In 2019, they distributed more than 41 million meals.

On Saturday, November 6, the CSOP will host another event, this one at the Jackpot Bar and Grill. This place is located at the corner of Harmon and Jones, not far from the Orleans. This event opens the reception at noon and starts the tournament at 1:30pm, but the prices are the same as the other one: $100 for the reception only, $300 for the reception and poker tournament, and $100 for rebuys and add-ons in the tournament.
This tournament will also offer a $5K prize pool for the top finishers. And there will also be a silent auction and 50/50 cash drawing for this event as well.
This event will benefit FEAT – Families for Effective Autism Treatment, a nonprofit dedicated to providing resources and information for families and individuals impacted by autism. The organization is based in Clark County and primarily services the Southern Nevada area.
