BetOnline Offers $60K in New Year Leaderboard
It’s that time of year, time to begin thinking about the new year. For poker players, that means setting poker goals. No matter the size of one’s bankroll, a player must seek to play online poker on sites with the most value. They want to maximize the amount of money to be made. They want to challenge themselves but not immediately jump into shark-infested waters.
BetOnline – and sister site SportsBetting.ag – announced a way to set some 2022 goals. A new leaderboard competition for January will offer daily prizes amidst a $60K giveaway. And their online poker platform is just right for players wanting to handle their initial 2022 bankroll delicately but build it steadily.
It is also a way to get prepared for the upcoming COPS – Championship Online Poker Series – set to begin January 23.
New Year Poker Leaderboards
There will be $60K up for grabs in January 2022. The leaderboard competitions are nothing new for BetOnline or Sportsbetting poker platforms, but this one has a New Year’s theme and daily rewards.
The No Limit Hold’em Daily Cash Games Leaderboard will offer $1K in daily rewards. The Pot Limit Omaha leaderboard will put up $500 in daily rewards.
Unlike other leaderboards that rely on players putting in hours upon hours of play, this one rewards players based on the hands they receive. It gives every player a chance to earn points, no matter the stakes they play or how many hands they win or lose. Points accumulate based on hands formed in showdowns.
Pocket Kings = 1 point
Pocket Aces = 2 points
Two pair = 3 points
Three of a kind = 4 points
Straight = 5 points
Flush = 6 points
Full house = 7 points
Four of a kind = 15 points
Straight flush = 30 points
Royal flush = 60 points
The only caveats are that there must be at least three players at the table, though not necessarily in the hand. The hands must go to a showdown to win points. Hold’em players must use both of their hole cards to form a combination listed above, and Omaha players must use at least two of their four hole cards.
There is also a Daily Sit & Go Leaderboard. This awards points for players in several times of SNGs. The top 50 players each day will win a share of that daily $500 prize pool.
Windfall win = 10 points
Double or Nothing SNG cash = 10 points
SNG top three finish = 10 points
COPS Preparation and Series
BetOnline and Sportsbetting both share player pools, which puts many players together for an online tournament series. Enter COPS – the Championship Online Poker Series. The last one ran in September 2021. It offered 20 days of events, each with more than one buy-in level, making for a total of 267 tournaments. In total, the most recent COPS guaranteed more than $2.5M in payouts.
The next edition of COPS will be a bit of an abbreviated version. It will run for just two weeks instead of the previous three-week series, but it will still guarantee at least $1.5M. BetOnline has yet to release the full schedule, but it did set the dates: January 23 to February 6, 2022.
Why mention it now?
There is a COPS Warm-Up Leaderboard competition that will begin on January 1 and run through January 23. This specific promotion offers $5K in tournament money for players to win and then redeem during COPS.
This is an ideal way for players to earn tickets to COPS events, which usually range from $5 buy-ins up to $300. It doesn’t take much of a bankroll to get started, and all tournament activity contributes to points on this leaderboard.
