BetOnline Launches Bad Beat Jackpot 2.0
BetOnline is one of those online poker sites that always keeps promotions running for its players. There are always monthly leaderboard challenges, as well as a standing welcome bonus. The Windfall jackpot SNG tournaments are also offering the chance to play a $1M Windfall SNG, wherein the player will randomly turn $10 into $1M.
Those are solid promotions, well-liked by the players.
Now, there is also a new bad beat jackpot, even more reason to get to the cash game tables at BetOnline.
What is a BBJ?
A bad beat jackpot is something that some live and online poker rooms offer to their players. It comes into play when one huge hand bad beats another huge hand.
Players contribute to a bad beat jackpot (BBJ) at participating cash game tables, with a small percentage of the rake going to the BBJ fund. The poker room usually seeds the fund, and players increase it. The longer it goes without hitting, the larger the jackpot will be.
Typically, when someone hits the BBJ with a qualifying hand, the participants in the hand will receive most of the jackpot, while other players at the table often receive something as well.
Bad Beat Jackpot 2.0
BetOnline has improved its jackpot, calling it Bad Beat Jackpot 2.0. It started on March 1 and will run indefinitely at No Limit Hold’em cash game tables. All stakes will have tables participating in the BBJ.
This BBJ is set up to pay when four of a kind (threes and higher) or a straight flush beats four of a kind (deuces or higher).
When that happens:
-Bad beat victim wins 20% of BBJ
-Winner of hand wins 10% of BBJ
-All other players at the table split 10% of BBJ
-All other players at all BBJ tables split 20% of BBJ
-BetOnline takes 5% fee
-BBJ restarts with 35% of BBJ
This is an example of what happens when a BBJ hits, though this was in the previous iteration of the BetOnline Bad Beat Jackpot:
Most recently, BetOnline reported that the jackpot has hit every day since the new BBJ began. “Munkers325” won $19,915 playing NL100, and “All-In” won $18,196 playing NL200. This just exemplifies the speed at which the BBJ grows daily and the significant payouts when it happens.
Important Details
There are qualifiers for the Bad Beat Jackpot to hit. There must be at least four players dealt into the hand initially. And the loser of the BBJ hand must use both hole cards in that bad beat hand, with the same the case with the winner of the hand.
Note that there is a BBJ fee taken from every pot at a BBJ-qualifying table. There is also a cap on the amount that BetOnline will take.
