Black Diamond Poker Open Continues on Ignition and Bovada
As February abruptly ended on February 28, as it is wont to do, Ignition Poker and Bovada Poker were coordinating to kick off the Black Diamond Poker Open.
Both sides operate on the same online poker network, which means they share their player pools. That allows them to offer bigger tournament series with bigger guarantees.
Thus, this iteration of the Black Diamond Poker Open offers more than 150 tournaments and more than $12M in prize pool guarantees. The 2023 BDPO is the 12th annual Black Diamond Poker Open, and its growth is evident in the massive schedule.
2023 BDPO
This year’s series began on February 28 and will run through March 29. Even if you missed the first week of tournaments, there is plenty more on the schedule.
There is also something for players at every level of the game. Buy-ins start at just $11 with the max buy-in set at $1,055, but the vast majority of them are on the lower end. And that means satellites are available for as little as $1.
The entirety of the schedule embodies variety. While most tournaments are of the No Limit Hold’em variety, there are some other options like Omaha. But most of the variety comes in the form of unique structures. There are player-favorite progressive knockout (PKO) tournaments, deep stacks and monster stacks, six-handed and seven-handed tables, and turbos.
Taking a look at the lineup for Sunday, March 12, the vast array of tournament options – in only BPO12 tournaments, not all of the other daily tourneys – is evident:
6:12am (Event 69): $27.50 buy-in NLHE Extra Play ($7,500 GTD)
1:12pm (Event 70): $270 buy-in NLHE Monster Stack ($150K GTD)
2:12pm (Event 71): $38.50 buy-in NLHE PKO Monster Stack ($25K GTD)
6:12pm (Event 72): $55 buy-in NLHE Crazy Eights ($28,888 GTD)
7:12pm (Event 73): $215 buy-in NLHE Turbo 6-Handed ($75K GTD)
All times are Eastern, and all start at 12 minutes past the hour to celebrate the 12th BDPO.
BDPO12 Main Events
As all good tournament series do, this one will offer a Main Event. In fact, it will offer several of them. Those are schedule to take place on Sunday, March 26 as follows:
-6:12am (Event 133): $82 buy-in NLHE Early Bird Main Event ($12K GTD)
-1:12pm (Event 134): $109 buy-in NLHE Mini Main Event ($112K GTD)
-2:12pm (Event 135): $450 buy-in NLHE Main Event ($350K GTD)
-4:12pm (Event 136): $27.50 buy-in NLHE Micro Main Event ($25K GTD)
While those will be the highlighted events, the series will continue through March 29. The final official BDPO12 tournament will be Event 150, a $162 buy-in NLHE tournament with 50K starting chips and a $70K guarantee.
