Americas Cardroom Announces Largest OSS XL Ever
Americas Cardroom and its sister sites on the Winning Poker Network have flagship events. Its flagship solo tournament is the Venom, which is underway now in its PKO format. The network’s flagship tournament series is the Online Super Series, better known as OSS.
In the past, WPN has offered different versions of OSS. There has been MOSS (mini version), BOSS (bigger version with higher stakes), and OSS XL as a version of its basic series with more tournaments and guarantees. That OSS XL is the latest on offer.
Americas Cardroom has announced the latest XL version. It will run May 7-29, coincidentally (or not) covering the month prior to the summer of poker in Las Vegas. The WSOP begins on May 30, and numerous other live tournaments (and online bracelet events) will capture poker players’ attention. Prior to that summer kickoff, players can compete for their share of $40M in guaranteed prize pools on the Winning Poker Network sites.
OSS XL Overview
This iteration of the Online Super Series will be the largest ever, and that doesn’t even count the number of tournament guarantees that will be surpassed.
This series will offer more than 275 tournaments in total over the course of three weeks in May. Altogether, the guarantees top $40M. Eight of the events will offer more than $1M each in guarantees, and the ultimate OSS Main Event will offer a $3M guarantee.
Buy-ins start as low as $2.25, and the vast majority of the series offers buy-ins of $100 or less. There are a solid number of higher buy-ins, but those will have satellites running to offer discount tickets, too.
All in all, there will be a mix of Hold’em and Omaha, with structures ranging from progressive knockouts to deepstacks and turbos.
May OSS Highlights
Depending on your poker bankroll and time available to play satellites, OSS can be as big of a deal as you choose. However, there are a number of can’t-miss tournaments that players will certainly try to qualify for…unless they buy in directly.
