ACR Offers WSOP Takedown and Rookie Challenge
Americas Cardroom sends players to the World Series of Poker every year.
This year is going to be a big one. The 2022 WSOP is in a new location on the Las Vegas Strip and back to its summer dates after two years of pandemic delays and rescheduling. There is much speculation that this could be one of the biggest WSOP years ever.
ACR wants its players to be there and compete. So, the Winning Poker Network came up with two ways for players to win their way to the WSOP Main Event. One is the annual WSOP Takedown, but they then added a new one via a partnership with poker pro K.L. Cleeton called the Rookie Challenge.
Time for some details.
2022 WSOP Takedown
The World Series of Poker is fast approaching. It kicks off on May 31, though the Main Event doesn’t begin until July 3. That leaves plenty of time for poker players to win their seats into that $10K buy-in Main Event.
Americas Cardroom and its sister sites on the Winning Poker Network have 20 prize packages up for grabs May 5-22. Each seat is a part of a $12,500 package that includes the buy-in plus $2,500 in travel expenses.
Players can qualify for as little as zero – freeroll it! – or buy in at various levels of the process. For example, the first day of the WSOP Takedown, which is Thursday, May 5, will offer these four options:
-11:30am ET: Freeroll with 45 seats to SuperSat #1
-2:30pm ET: $1.10 buy-in SuperSat #1 with 10 seats to MEGA #1
-6:05pm ET: $11 buy-in to MEGA #1 with 10 seats to Takedown
-6:05pm ET: Freeroll with 45 seats to SuperSat #2
All of it leads up to three primary satellites:
Main Satellite #1 on Sunday, May 8 at 4pm ET: $109 buy-in (or ticket) with 5 WSOP packages GTD
Main Satellite #2 on Sunday, May 15 at 4pm ET: $109 buy-in (or ticket) with 5 WSOP packages GTD
Main Satellite #3 on Sunday, May 22 at 4pm ET: $215 buy-in (or ticket) with 10 WSOP packages GTD
The entire of the three weeks of action is on the special WSOP Takedown page of the ACR website. There are multiple opportunities to qualify for the main satellites every day from May 5 onward.
WSOP Rookie Challenge
This is a new one for Americas Cardroom and for its partner. K.L. Cleeton is a poker pro but has yet to team up with a major online poker room for a promotion…until now.
The WSOP Rookie Challenge is an ode to Cleeton’s first time in the WSOP Main Event. He won his seat to the 2017 Main Event and remembers the joy of the entire trip. And he wants to be a part of making that special trip happen for another player. That is why he partnered with ACR for the WSOP Rookie Challenge.
From May 5-22, players can compete in any of the following tournaments and win a seat to the $11 Takedown. These are special WSOP Rookie Challenge events labeled as such in the tournament lobby:
-Thursday, May 5 at 6:05pm ET: $11 or ticket from earlier SuperSat #1
-Sunday, May 8 at 12:30pm ET: $11 or ticket from earlier SuperSat #6
-Thursday, May 12 at 6:05pm ET: $11 or ticket from earlier SuperSat #4
-Sunday, May 15 at 12:30pm ET: $11 or ticket from earlier SuperSat #9
-Thursday, May 19 at 6:05pm ET: $22 or ticket from earlier SuperSat #5
-Sunday, May 22 at 12:30pm ET: $22 or ticket from earlier SuperSat #10
Players who reach the final table of any of the six above tournaments will receive a message from ACR asking if they’d like to submit a short video. The video should explain why the judges should choose that person to receive the Rookie Challenge prize package. (The judges include Cleeton, the ACR Team Pros, and ACR staff.
This prize package is different from the other 20 to be awarded because it’s a unique promotion. The winner will receive the $10K Main Event buy-in as well as $2,500 for travel expenses and accommodations and $2,500 in cash.
I finally get to officially announce what I've been teasing for the last several weeks!
