ACR Runs PKOSS and Thanksgiving Specials
Poker players know what they want. These days, it is bounty tournaments. And Americas Cardroom is giving them all of the progressive knockout action they can handle.
The Winning Poker Network, featuring flagship site Americas Cardroom, just wrapped up its latest Venom tournament, which was a Venom PKO and soared right past its guarantee. Before that even finished, ACR announced a special knockout series – PKOSS – that runs through November 14. And if that wasn’t enough, the site is offering a Thanksgiving Bountyful Weekend over the upcoming holiday weekend with three multi-flight PKO tournaments.
Let’s break it down.
Latest Venom PKO Success
From mid-October through the beginning of November, the Winning Poker Network offered its latest Venom extravaganza. The $2,650 buy-in Venom PKO – its fifth iteration – offered four starting flights from October 20-31 and a $5 million guarantee.
The result was a stellar field:
-Total entries: 2,744
-Total prize pool: $6.86M (half for bounties, half for prize pool)
-Total paid players: 306
-Minimum payout: $2,401
This Venom PKO was slightly smaller than the last one, which took place earlier in 2022. That one attracted 2,872 entries for a $7.18M prize pool. Even so, the latest one easily surpassed its guarantee.
Over the first days of November, this recent Venom PKO played down to its final table. Those eight players competed on a livestream on November 3 via Twitch in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. When they began the final table, Austrians artorollin and Amygdaluss held the top two chip positions, with Americans birdgang8 and JohnnyUtah next on the leaderboard. Lithuania’s dartazz was in fifth, BiTaMiHka and procurator – both of Belarus – were in sixth and seventh, and Justicepeanut of the United States was on the short stack.
Not even an hour and a half into the action, Amygdaluss had a dominating chip lead three-handed. When dartazz busted procurator in third place, heads-up play began and continued for almost an hour. But finally, dartazz pushed with Q-8 on a Q-7-6-K-J board, but Amygdaluss had K-Q.
With that, the final results were:
1st place: Amygdaluss (Austria) $483,630 + $342,902.59 in bounties
2nd place: dartazz (Lithuania) $483,630 + $73,603.47 in bounties
3rd place: procurator (Belarus) $306,985 + $13,144.53 in bounties
4th place: JohnnyUtah (USA) $217,805 + $49,985.34 in bounties
5th place: artorollin (Austria) $152,635 + $34,804.68 in bounties
6th place: birdgang8 (USA) $119,364 + $17,724.60 in bounties
7th place: BiTaMiHka (Belarus) $85,750 + $13,750.97 in bounties
8th place: Justicepeanut (USA) $58,310 + $17,011.72 in bounties
🥇And we have a champ! Congrats to Amygdaluss on winning the $5 Million #VenomPKO.
