ACR Kicks Off Moneymaker Promo and New Tourney Schedule
On the heels of sending numerous players on the trip of a lifetime to play the Triton High Roller Series in Vietnam, Americas Cardroom is launching its next massive giveaway. It will result in a player winning a prize package worth $115K in the Next Moneymaker 2.0 competition.
Meanwhile, ACR also launched a new tournament schedule, one with more low-stakes options and now a total of $10.6M in weekly guaranteed prize pools.
Next Moneymaker 2.0 Begins
It is ready to go. The Moneymaker 2.0 promotion starts this weekend, kicking off 13 weeks of satellites that will translate – for one determined player – into a $115K World Series of Poker prize package.
A few weeks ago, we introduced the Moneymaker promotion, which centers around the journey of Chris Moneymaker, the one that took him from an online poker satellite to world champion in the WSOP Main Event, one that took a satellite that cost less than $100 and transformed it into $2.5M.
Players on Americas Cardroom will be able to play in weekly leaderboard competitions that start March 11 and run through May 28. Players will win money in weekly competitions as well as the June 4-5 finale. Every Saturday through May 27 and one Sunday (May 28), players can play in the $86 buy-in tournaments through a direct buy-in or satellites that will run as low as $26. Those players earn points for participating as well as for placing in the top 24 of each weekly tournament.
There is also $1M up for grabs, with half of it distributed to the prize pools of the weekly challenges and the other half put on the final qualifier’s prize pool.
Players who then qualify for the finale will receive chip stacks reflecting the number of points they accumulated through the weekly competitions. The ultimate winner will take possession of a $100K prize package for any WSOP buy-ins they choose, as well as a $15K package to play in the WSOP Main Event.

The weekly tournaments are simple to find in the lobby under the “Tourney” tab. Look for “The Next Moneymaker” headings.
New Tourney Schedule
Americas Cardroom and its sister sites on the Winning Poker Network implemented a new weekly tournament schedule this month. The biggest focus was to make some tournaments more accessible to players in Europe, as well as to offer more low-stakes buy-ins across the board.
Overall, the weekly guarantees increased 13% to $10.6M, with low-stakes and micro-stakes tournaments increasing 62% in their guarantees. Some of the more specific changes include:
-Total MTTs: increase 27.99% from 1,254 to 1,605
-Total prize pools: increase 12.73% from $9.45M to $10.66M
-Total low-stakes & micro-stakes MTTs: increase 34.43% from 657 to 903
-Total low-stakes & micro-stakes prize pools: increase 61.7% from $610K to $987K
Other improvements put more tournaments into a time zone that will encourage more European players to enter. That time zone translates into many more tournaments and guarantees from 6:30am to 1pm for those in the Eastern time zone.
